Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a fire / police facility; for the construction of a pre-engineered storage facility; and pre-engineered storage facility.

City of Wilkes-Barre will receive sealed bids for the Hollenback Fire Station Auxiliary Garage Project, which is generally comprised of site work, concrete work, installation of pre-engineered metal building and other miscellaneous work including all incidental work related thereto. The project will be bid as one prime general contract. All times will be strictly enforced. Bidders are encouraged to provide their bids well in advance of the time. Bidders attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum wages and salaries in accordance with the provisions of the Prevailing Wage Act 442 and contained in the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, must be paid throughout the duration of this project. Bid security, in an amount equal to ten (10%) of the total bid, shall be submitted with each Bid, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond. The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicap or family status, and that to the greatest extent feasible utilize project area business located in or owned in substantial part of project area residents. In accordance with Executive Orders 11625 and 12138, the successful bidder must utilize, to the greatest extent feasible, minority and/or women-owned business concerns which are located within the municipality, county, or general trade area. In addition to Equal Employment requirements of Executive Order 11246, as amended, the contractor must also comply with 2 CFR 200.231 with regard to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in his aggregate on-site construction work force, materials, and equipment. City of Wilkes-Barre reserves the right to reject any or all bids or portions thereof, and to waive any informality in the bidding. Th selection of the successful bidder shall be made in the best interest of the City of Wilkes-Barre, as they solely determine, and bidders acknowledge this by submitting a bid. Bids may be held by City of Wilkes-Barre for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids, before awarding the Contract. In this period of time no Bidder may withdraw their bid.
