The purpose of the following specification is to set forth the requirements of transformers for general use for the electrical distribution system of the City of Redding Electric Utility. It is the intent of these specifications to obtain for the City of Redding Electric Utility transformers of the best modern design, of proven performance, rugged, reliable and capable of remaining in service for many years without maintenance. In the event the Bidder is awarded the Contract and fails to deliver the transformers within the time limit (see point A.4 in Transformer Information Statement page 1) or extended time limit agreed upon, as more particularly set forth herein, liquidated damages shall be paid by the Contractor to the City at the rate of $100 per business day for each day the complete order is delivered late. The total amount of liquidated damages shall not exceed 10 percent of the net cost of the transformers. Questions must be presented in writing, via email to the contact listed below. The materials to be furnished under this proposal will be delivered at such time and in such quantities as called for by the City of Redding and the Contract Period shall be from Award of Bid through June 30, 2026. If mutually agreeable, with all terms and conditions remaining the same, and price changes in direct proportion to the change in PPI (refer to Section 9 of the General Specifications), this Contract may be extended annually through June 30, 2029. Bid date description: All bids must be submitted on standard bid forms provided by the City of Redding. The bidder shall provide the original (unbound) and one (1) copy of the bid proposal. Fax or electronic submission of bid proposals will not be allowed. The City will award any resulting contract in a manner consistent with the City purchasing ordinance.
