SCOPE OF WORK 3.1 General Project Description, FP-14 N546- Shiprock Chapter, AZ. This work consists of 1) Road Reconditioning. This work consists of reconditioning ditches, shoulders, roadbeds, aggregate surfaces, or the entire road. 2) Contractor Sampling and testing, this work consists of obtaining samples for material testing. Subgrade Preparation, the top 6 inches shall be compacted to 95% of the maximum density. 3) Aggregate Base Coarse (ABC) placement. Minor Crushed Aggregate, this work consists of furnishing and placing crushed aggregate for bedding, backfill, and roadway aggregate on a prepared surface. Appendix D- Typical Cross Section with ABC a. Delivery and Placement of ABC. b. 3/4" Nominal Maximum Aggregate size. c. 2.0 miles, with 3,887 Tons 4) Double Chip Seal; 10,560-foot length by 20-foot uniform width 5) Fog Seal application; 10,560-foot length by 20-foot uniform width 6) Clearing and Grubbing- This work consists of clearing and grubbing within the clearing limits designated in the plans. 7) Permanent Signage placement, this work consists of installing traffic control devices. Two (2)- Type R2-1 (15mph), 24"x30" (Conventional). One (1)- Caution Sign (T Intersection Caution Sign) Pavement Markers, non-plowable for 10,560 feet Performance Bond: Include in the proposal a letter from the Surety Company assuring that a Performance Bond can be issued upon the execution of a contract. When the contract is executed, the Contractor shall provide to the Navajo Nation a Performance Bond underwritten and executed by Surety Company that guarantees the Contractor's complete and satisfactory performance under the Contract. The Performance Bond shall be equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Original Contract Amount, unless otherwise provided in the Lesser Bond Amounts. The Payment Bond: The Contractor shall provide to the Navajo Nation a Payment Bond underwritten and executed by a Surety Company that will protect all persons, subcontractors, or other entities supplying labor and material to the Contractor or its subcontractors for the performance under this Contract. The Payment Bond shall be in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Original Contract Amount, unless otherwise provided the Lesser Bond Amounts. The Payment Bond must be provided in addition to the Performance Bond required in Article Ea. herein. REJECTION OF PROPOSALS: The Navajo Division of Transportation (Navajo DOT) - Department of Roads reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive informalities and minor irregularities in the proposals received.
