The Project includes the following Work: The rehabilitation of the existing large slide at the Windber Recreation Pool. The existing slide is approximately 36 inches wide and 160 feet in total length. Rehabilitation shall include providing a safe interior slide surface for users and painting of the exterior slide surface in accordance with the Scope of Work. All work shall be completed by May 29th, 2025. Faxed bids will not be accepted. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the Owner or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond on the form provided, executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety (Surety companies must appear on the Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and be authorized to transact business in the State of Pennsylvania), in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total of the Bid shall be submitted with each bid to guarantee the Bidder's entrance into a contract if given the award. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price. Bids will remain subject to acceptance for 60 days after the Bid opening; PROVIDED, however, that if the award of the contract is delayed by a required approval of another government agency, the sale of bonds or the award of the grant or grants, the Owner shall reject all bids or award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder within 120 days of the date of the BID opening, and no bidder may withdraw his bid before the expiration of such 120-day period or for such longer period of time that Bidder may agree to in writing upon request of Owner. Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage rates will apply to this contract. The contract documents contain requirements addressing prevailing labor wage rates, labor standards, nondiscrimination in hiring practices and related matters. All contractors and subcontractors shall comply with the Public Works Employment Verification Act. The Act requires the contractor to verify employment eligibility through the e-verify program operated by the United States Department of Homeland Security as a precondition of being awarded a contract for this project. The contract documents contain information and verification Form regarding the Act. This project is funded by PA Local Share Account Program funds. Contractor shall comply with all requirements of grant conditions for Windber Pool and Safety Upgrades (Contract C000092616). The "Steel Products Procurement Act" applies to this project for all steel used for construction. Bidders for this contract shall have completed projects similar in character and scope and will be required to provide with their Bid a Qualifications Statement for prime contractor and all subcontractors. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
