The proposedwork consists of demolition and removal for approximately 1472 linear feet of an existing sidewalkalong the south side of 2nd Street from Detroit Avenue to Business 98, installation of new 4 wideand 4 thick sidewalk in the existing footprint, installation of 8.9 feet of new sidewalk adjacent to therailroad tracks, and handicap ramps with detectable warning mats. The Contractor shall provide allmaterials, equipment and labor to complete the project. The City shallaward the Contract to the Bidder, whom the City determines in its reasonable discretion that offersthe City the better value based upon the overall unit prices for the various portions of the potentialwork that may be authorized pursuant to the Contract.Point of Contact will be City Clerk Teresa Cox via email at tcox@springfield.fl.gov or phone850.872.7570. Each bidder must comply with all applicable state and local laws concerning licensing, registration, and regulations of contractors doing business in Florida.The City shall award the Contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder; provided ,however, the City reserves the right to award the Contract to a Bidder who is not the lowest responsive and responsible bidder if the City determines in its reasonable discretion that another Bid offers the City a better value based upon the reliability, quality of service, or product of suchother Bidder. Respondent is hereby notified that Section 287.05701, Florida Statutes, requires that the City maynot request documentation of or consider a vendor's social, political, or ideological interests when determining if the vendor is a responsible vendor. There will be no Mandatory pre-bid meeting for this project. There will be no Mandatory pre-bid meeting for this project. BIDDER hereby agrees to commence WORK on or before a date specified in the Notice to Proceed and to substantially complete the project within 60 consecutive calendar days thereafter, and to fully complete the project within 30 consecutive calendar days thereafter. Total contract time is 90 calendar days.
