The Work shall include: The installation of a permanent force main bypass consisting of approximately 45 LF of 16-inch ductile iron force main wyed off of an existing 20-inch force main and discharging into a new, proposed doghouse manhole over an existing combined sewer. New plug valves will be installed on the new 16-inch force main and the existing 20-inch force main. Within a separate force main discharge manhole, the work will also include 30-inch ductile iron piping improvements, benchwall improvements, and epoxy manhole lining. Bid security in the form of an acceptable certified check payable to the Owner or an acceptable Bidder's bond, in an amount of not less than 5% of the total bid price, in accordance with the Contract Specifications. The Contractor to whom the Work is awarded will be required to furnish an acceptable Performance and Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% of the contract price and must be in full force and effect throughout the term of the Construction Contract plus a period of twelve (12) months from the date of substantial completion.
