As of June 13, 2025, the project was awarded to TW Clark Construction but the awarded amount is not available. The Bubble on Gum Housing project is an affordable multifamily rental garden style apartment community located in East Kennewick, at the intersection of 13th Ave and Gum St. The property will be a mix of 2-story townhomes and stacked flats. The project will feature 28 one-bedroom units, 23 two-bedroom units, and 7 three-bedroom units across eight buildings. There will also be a community building, and a maintenance shop. Amenities include parking, covered mailboxes, a children's play area, small soccer 'rave court', and xeriscape landscaping. The present condition of the site is that of a vacant gravel lot. In addition to the primary housing development, related offsite improvements are required along Gum St between 10th avenue and 13th Ave., as well as along 13th Ave. for the frontage of the property. These improvements include the demo and replacement of the roadway, stormwater improvements, curb and gutter, sidewalks, street lighting, and utility work.
