Metrolinx is accepting Submissions for For the Provision of Supply, Delivery, and Installation of UHF Bi-Directional Amplifiers Existing in-building coverage systems Union Station is the central rail station located at 65 Front St W, Toronto, ON M5J 1E6. There are two bi-directional amplifiers (BDA) installed in the Union Station. Please refer to the attached Union Station DAS concept diagram. One BDA is installed in the York concourse (Room G-W622A), another BDA is installed in the Bay concourse (Room G-E616), to cover respective areas. Union Station Bus Terminal is located at 81 Bay St. Toronto ON M5J 0E7. One headend BDA is installed on the top of the building (Level 51 North Riser Comm Room). It is connected via single mode fiber cables with two remote BDAs installed on the ground level (Level 1, Hub Room). Currently every BDA unit is powered from UPS via standard 15 A 120 V AC receptacle. Metrolinx will provide the same type of 120 V AC UPS power for the new proposed equipment. Each existing BDA is mounted on the wall and has N (Female) type connector for existing indoor antenna system. Currently all BDAs receive over the air signals from the CN Tower radio site. Should that site fail, the UHF radio coverage inside of these large buildings will be lost. The existing BDAs provide sufficient coverage. The purpose of this project is to improve reliability of the in-building coverage radio systems by adding redundancy. Metrolinx reserves the right to reject any or all Submissions at its sole discretion.
