As of July 18, 2025, bids received were rejected as they were over the budget. As of this time, it is unknown if project will be rebid or not. The City of Salem is seeking a proposal for the replacement of our current storm siren system, utilizing more efficient updated sirens in less locations for better coverage and less points where failures can be found in routine testing. Jonathon Counts; jcounts@salemmo.com 573-729-4242 Deadline for questions February 5, 2025 The preferred specifications for the new storm siren system: o Selected contractors would be required to install and be available to service the storm sirens in the future with any issues or failures we may have. o Currently the city has 8 storm siren locations, we would like to cut this number to 2 one on each side of town utilizing updated technology for broader coverage. o A system that would be able to be tested without full activation of the sirens as to not make the siren a routine noise that some may ignore. (chimes or voice broadcast capability.) o Provide warranty details for parts and services. o Provide both a list of 3-5 references and a list of customers whose systems you have installed and currently maintain in Missouri. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals submitted, waive any informalities or irregularities in the proposals received, and to accept any proposal which, in the opinion of the City, is in the best interest of the City.
