The project consists of the removal and installation of asphalt pavement; installation of 708 feet of new 12-inch water main, two new fire hydrants and two new 2-inch water services The City has set the final completion date for the project as July 18, 2025; however, the bidder's will be given the opportunity to submit an earlier completion date, if they desire. Completion date will be one of the factors utilized by the City of Medina when evaluating bids. The bidder must submit a completion date with the bid submitted. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certified or Cashier's Check, or a bid bond, in the amount of 10 percent of the total amount bid, made payable to the City of Medina, Ohio as guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into with the City within thirty (30) days and its performance secured by a performance bond in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price, and in default thereof, said check or bond will be forfeited to the City of Medina as liquidated damages. In addition, each bid must be accompanied by a non-collusion affidavit. The City of Medina reserves the right to reject any and all bids and the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding. The base bid portion of this project consists of the installation of approximately 708 lineal feet of twelve (12) inch water main from the City’s existing twelve (12) inch water main on S. Court Street near the City Water Tower located at 1215 S. Court Street through City owned property and an easement area located to the west of the water tower to an existing twelve (12) inch water main on High Point Drive. In addition, the base bid includes the installation of two (2) 2-inch water services and the installation of two (2) fire hydrants. Below please find a general summary of items that are included as a part of the base bid for this project: 1. Pavement sawcutting. 2. Asphalt pavement removal and disposal. 3. Installation of twelve (12) inch water main within pavement areas and outside of pavement areas. 4. Installation of two (2) - six (6) inch fire hydrant assemblies. 5. Installation of two (2) -two (2) inch copper water service lines and appurtenances. 6. Installation of base course asphalt pavement with the water main trench area. 7. Installation of erosion control measures as required. 8. Final grading and seeding of all areas within the construction limits.
