Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Gardner, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
Location: Gardner Elm Street Resurfacing and Sidewalk Improvements (SRTS) District: 3 Project Type: Highway - Construction MADOT: Elm Street Resurfacing and Sidewalk Improvements (SRTS) SCOPE OF WORK All work under this Contract shall be done in conformance with the 2025 Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges, the Construction Standard Details in effect as of March 12, 2025, the 1990 Standard Drawings for Signs and Supports, the 2015 Overhead Signal Structure and Foundation Standard Drawings, the 2009 Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) with Revisions 1, 2, and 3 and the November 2022 Massachusetts Amendments to the MUTCD, the 1968 Standard Drawings for Traffic Signals and Highway Lighting, the latest edition of The American Standard for Nursery Stock, the Plans and these Special Provisions. Improvements will consist of pavement milling / overlay of Elm Street, reconstruction of sidewalks and new vertical granite curb. New sidewalks and curb ramps within the project limits will be ADA-compliant. Drainage system adjustments will include deep sump catch basins with hoods for water quality and drainpipe. A new bike lane at sidewalk grade shall be installed in front of the Elm Street School with two new rectangular flashing beacons. Bike lanes shall be on both sides of Elm Street.
