Marlboro County Government is issuing this Request for Bids (RFB) soliciting bids from qualified firms to construct a 30 by 52 foot split-faced concrete block facility per specifications. The building will be utilized by participants and spectators who attend baseball, softball and other events held at Lindsay Park located at 122 Lindsay Park Road off Route 9 in Bennettsville, South Carolina. The existing building will require demolition and removal prior beginning construction of new building. The plans as sealed by Jill Fox Architect and Benjamin L. Smith PE will undergo plan review by Safe Built the firm that the County uses to provide oversight for permitting. There will be no building permit fee for this project. The property location is under the County jurisdiction. The County does not have a business license ordinance. The City of Bennettsville provides water service to the project location. The County will utilize the existing water tap. The building will require a septic tank system. County will make application to SCDHEC and provide septic tank permit. Contractor will install septic tank system and will provide a minimum of 300 feet of drain lines with system. Existing electrical service is with Duke Progress Energy for this location. The County will request a temporary power service for the site from Duke Energy. Contractor to provide temporary service pole. The work as performed by the selected contractor will be subject to inspection for footings, foundation/floor, framing, building sewer and rough-in testing, electrical, insulation, mechanical and final inspection.
