The Chehalis River Basin Flood Control Zone District (District) is a government entity seeking a new project manager or management firm for a large-scale flood-damage reduction project currently under state and federal environmental review: a flow-through dam for flood control on the Chehalis River. This innovative structure allows fish and sediment to pass freely through the river, but very rarely, in times of catastrophic flooding, retains water to reduce flood damage. The project manager or management firm will supervise teams of consultants as the District's representative, act as a public face of the District, interact with tribal governments and state and federal agencies, coordinate internally with the District's administration and Board, and generally helm the review and permitting of this large project--the first of its kind in North America.
