The work covered by the specifications includes furnishing all labor, equipment and the noted material for street improvements including but not limited to pavement removal, roadway realignment, full depth subgrade stabilization, asphalt base and surface installation, concrete drive apron installation, storm sewer installation, and pavement markings including all appurtenances. All bidders and subcontractors must be ODOT prequalified in the categories required for the type of work they are to perform. These improvements must attain Final Completion by November 15th, 2025. Each bid must contain the full names of the party or parties making the same, with an affidavit as to interested parties, and in the case of a corporation not chartered in Ohio, with a proper certificate that such corporation is authorized to do business in Ohio, and shall be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty Bond for the full amount (100%) of the Bid, in favor of the City of Broadview Heights or a certified check, cashier's check, or letter of credit pursuant to Chapter 1305 of the Ohio Revised Code, in the amount of 10% of the Bid, payable to the City of Broadview Heights. For every piece of equipment furnished under this Contract, the manufacturer will be required to have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in providing this specific type of equipment. In lieu of this experience requirement, the manufacturer will be required to provide performance bond(s) for the faithful performance of the equipment and guaranty payment in a sum of not less than one hundred and fifty percent (150%) of the total equipment price for the completed work for that item. In the absence of verifiable experience, the manufacturer will be required to provide the performance bond(s) for the same number of years that the manufacturer was found lacking in experience from the specified five (5) year period. The performance bond(s) shall be from an approved surety company to the satisfaction of the Owner's Law Department It is agreed that the bid guaranty shall be for the benefit of the City of Broadview Heights pursuant to Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code if the undersigned fails to execute the Contract in conformity with the Form of Contract incorporated in the contract documents and furnish Bond and insurance certificates within ten (10) days after the notification of the award of the Contract to the undersigned. The City of Broadview Heights reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities in the bids received, and to accept any bid which it deems most favorable. Base Bid shall include the completion of the following: - Improving Avery Road (East Royalton Road - Oakes Road), by removing the existing roadway, realigning the roadway horizontally and vertically, installing a mainline storm sewer, performing full depth subgrade stabilization and installing an asphalt cross section in accordance with the plans and specifications. The contractor shall restore the entire site according to the plans and specifications. - Improving Avery Road (East Royalton Road - Oakes Road), as described above except utilizing a Low Emission Asphalt Surface Course Mixture, as described in the detailed specifications, in lieu of ODOT 441 for surface. If this alternate is selected, an equivalent amount of ODOT 441 - Asphalt Surface Course, Type 1, PG 64-22, As Per Plan, will be non-performed from the base contract
