The Town has 14 building lots that have been registered at the Saskatchewan Land Registry. These 14 lots comprise Phase 2 of what is commonly referred to as the Robertson Drive residential development area which is the focus of new housing development in the Town of La Ronge, and is more specifically referred to as Robertson Drive Phase 2. The applicable R2 - High Density Residential District zoning category permits a range of housing types (single detached, semi-detached, duplex, townhouse and multiple unit / apartment dwellings) and the Town is open to the consideration of different development proposals / lot configurations to help achieve its goal. In this regard, the Town would permit consolidation of the lots in the subdivision to accommodate a preferred development plan. TIMELINE: The owner is seeking proposals from developers for acquisition, servicing and housing construction. The Town is open to ideas and suggestions and is willing to negotiate the terms of the contractual arrangement with the Successful Proponent in order to achieve the three key elements of this project which are described in more detail as follows: 1) Acquisition: As part of the contractual arrangement, the Town would transfer ownership of the lots in Robertson Drive Phase 2 to the successful proponent. This may be undertaken on the basis of achieving certain performance objectives such as the completion of the servicing of the subdivision to the satisfaction of the Town, as well as the construction of dwelling unit(s) as evidenced by the issuance of certificates of occupancy. 2) Servicing: The successful proponent must service the subdivision, in accordance with the engineered plans and specifications that have been prepared by the Town's engineering consultant. 3) Construction of Housing: In addition to construction / installation of the services, part of the contractual arrangement is to achieve build-out of the Phase 2 subdivision with new housing units. Depending on the nature of the development plan the successful proponent has for new housing construction within Phase 2, the contract would require a certain number of housing units to be constructed in each year until the completion of all housing units in the subdivision over a specified period of time.
