Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Palmer, Alaska. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
Chickaloon Village Traditional Council is requesting issuance of a land-use permit for the replacement of a culvert on Premier Creek from May through July 2025. Construction will require temporary stream diversion and construction of a temporary detour road and bridge. The channel inlet and outlet modification necessitate the extraction of 4 cubic yards of in-situ material, and backfill of 52 cubic yards of gravel, cobble, and boulders, along with bank construction using rock, topsoil, vegetative mats, and native plants. Approximately 1 acre of trees and brush will be cleared to allow heavy equipment to reach the site. A 225-foot long, single lane diversion road with a 30-foot temporary bridge will be utilized and removed upon project completion.
