The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is requesting quotes from qualified contractors to provide concrete services at the Trapper Creek and Talkeetna Libraries. Question Deadline 05/01/2025 at 5:00 PM AKT Location online portal. Scope of Work – Trapper Creek Library: The Trapper Creek Library is located at 8901 Devonshire Dr. Trapper Creek, AK 99683. Scheduling of the library concrete work will be coordinated with the awarded contractor. The library’s hours of operation are provided in Attachment #1. All work shall be completed within the timeframe of the contract dates. Slab 1 1. Remove existing slab, haul away, and properly dispose of removed concrete. 2. Prep sub surface and form for new entry concrete slab. The installed entrance elevation to match existing. Ensure proper slopes for drainage. 3. Match existing height at the asphalt interface. 4. Match finished concrete surface to existing concrete. Slab 2 1. Prep for a 15’ x 25’ concrete slab on the side of the building (see Attachment #1 for reference of general location). Finished slab elevation will need to be close to the elevation of the existing housekeeping slab. 2. Prep sub surface for up to 12” of ¾ minus. Use fabric to separate fill from frost susceptible native soil. Concrete slab placement may need to consider existing site conditions and slopes; field verify and coordinate actual location with MSB project manager and library staff. 3. Pour a 4” concrete slab using DOT State A mix. 4. Troweled and edged, 1.5:1 expansion joint over the surfaces, and finish the surface with a light broom finish. Scope of Work – Talkeetna Library: The Talkeetna Library is located at 24645 Talkeetna Spur Rd, Talkeetna, AK 99676. Scheduling of the library concrete work will be coordinated with the awarded contractor. The library’s hours of operation are provided in Attachment #2. All work shall be completed within the timeframe of the contract dates. 1. The concrete slab will be placed to the left of the current entrance. From the existing planter box and the outside edge of the housekeeping slab in front of the mechanical room door and along the existing concrete entry approach. Remove housekeeping slab prior to forming for concrete pad.
