Renovation of a water / sewer project in Lombard, Illinois. Working plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
** As of October 28, 2025 no bids received. No definite date for rebid.** The proposed work is officially known as "Main Street Booster Pump Station Improvement Project". There is currently no existing generator located at Main Street Booster Pump Station. Main Street Booster Pumping Station Installation of a 200 kW permanent mounted standby generator located at the Main Street Pumping Station (1301 South Main Street) (see Location Map under Appendix D). The onsite garage connected to the pumping station currently houses the existing MTS, which is to be replaced with new ATS, MTS and generator tap box. Project also includes replacement of an internal junction box and miscellaneous electrical upgrades to the station. All bid bonds shall be in an industrystandard format and in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount. A certified check, cashier's check, or money order is acceptable in place of a bid bond. The amount of the instrument must equal five percent (5%) of the bid amount. The successful Bidder shall furnish and pay for a satisfactory Performance Bond and satisfactory Labor and Material Payment Bonds, in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract sum (collectively the "Bonds"). The full width of the road is open to traffic and the completion of all items of work as specified within these documents, less punch list items. This work shall be substantially completed within 365 calendar days/working days of notice to proceed. Punch list items including Final Inspection per Section 105.13 are to be completed within 365 calendar days/working days of substantial completion. If the Contractor does not complete the work within the 365 calendar/working days allotted by the Contract. Questions answered on-site will be nonbinding. All questions must be submitted in writing to Mr. Brian Jack, Utilities Superintendent, at jackb@villageoflombard.org by no later than 4:00 PM September 16, 2025. The Village reserves the right to award to its budgetary limit for the project, this includes rejecting all bids, awarding only the base bid, or awarding the base bid in combination with the alternative item. This work consists of taking color digital photographs of the project area and adjacent areas which may be impacted by construction. Photographs will include construction easements when applicable. Photographs will provide a visual record of all physical features within those areas, including, but not limited to, roadways, pavements, curbs, gutters, driveways, driveway aprons, sidewalks, carriage walks, parkways, trees, landscaping, shrubbery, plantings, landscaping walls, retaining walls, signs, sign posts, fences, utility poles, light poles, utilities, equipment, manholes, b-boxes, cleanouts, valves, curb structures, pipelines, buildings, mailboxes, and any other features located within the project area. A. General The Work to be performed generally consists of furnishing labor, materials, equipment, and supervision as required by the Contract Documents for furnishing, installing, testing and placing into operation the Main Street Booster Pump Station Standby Natural Gas Generator including related accessory equipment. The types of Work to be performed include but are not limited to the following: . 1. Install Main Street Booster Pump Station Generator (to be furnished by the Village) 2. Install Automatic Transfer Switch (to be furnished by the Village) 3. Furnish and Install Manual Transfer Switch, Powertron Tap Box and various additional electrical and controls equipment 4. Furnish and install electrical cable and conduit and junction boxes for power and communications. 5. Furnish and install concrete pads for generator. 6. Site restoration including topsoil, seeding, sidewalk and pavement restoration. This Section covers the automatic transfer switches (and manual transfer switch) to be installed and tested as shown in the Drawings and as specified herein. All related accessories where required, but not specifically provided for in these Specifications, shall be included under this Section of Work. This Section covers the instrumentation equipment, together with related accessories to be furnished, installed, programmed and tested as shown on the Drawings and as specified herein. All piping, conduits, wiring, fittings, connectors, supports and anchors, where required shall be included under this Section of Work. This work shall consist of all excavation necessary to complete the work to the line and grade shown on the plans. At the Contractors option, with the review of the Engineer, suitable excavated material may be utilized as fill material in nonstructural areas. Excavation and Disposal of material shall be in accordance with Section 202 of the Special Provisions. Earth Excavation will include all materials encountered including but not limited to the following: Natural Rock Bituminous Surface Removal, 1 1/2" Sanitary and Sewer Structures Sidewalk and Curb P.C.C. Driveway Pavement Bituminous Concrete Driveway Pavement Excavation for storm sewer items, sanitary items, lighting items including foundations shall be included in the cost of the various items and paid for separately under those items. No undercuts shall be performed without specific direction by the Engineer.
