Site work and paving for a road / highway in Pleasant Springs, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The project work consists of sealcoat surfacing on various Town roads. A separate bid must be submitted for each road. Contractor shall furnish the labor and material to complete sealcoating. A performance bond in the amount of 100 percent of the total bid price, a Certificate of Insurance naming the Town as an additional insured, and a signed contract, will be required of the successful bidder. All sealcoating work must be completed by September 30, 2025. (or as soon thereafter as practical and agreed upon). The Town Board will review and reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to accept the bid or bids deemed to be most advantageous to the Town. Questions concerning the roads to be included in the project, as well as a request to obtain a Bid Specification packet, may be directed to the Public Works staff by PHONE at (608) 205-9169, or via email at dpw@tn.pleasantsprings.wi.gov. Each road shall constitute a separate project. A separate bid must be submitted for each road. G. All Bids Shall Include Sweeping. H. ALL WORK MUST BE COMPLETED BY SEPTEMBER 30, 2025. I. All bids and payments shall be made pursuant to the following calculation for each project: K. Immediately prior to applying the sealcoat material, the existing surface shall be thoroughly cleaned of all loose material, dust, salt, vegetation and other objectionable material. Particular care shall be taken to thoroughly clean the outer pavement edges and intersections. E. The sealcoat distributor shall have instrumentation and controls to monitor and alter the asphalt application rate and temperature. A hose and nozzle attachment to the distributor shall be used for hand application for areas inaccessible to large equipment. F. Traffic control shall be provided by the contractor to maintain safety, minimize distress to the fresh asphalt seal coat and allow access to property during construction and curing. The contractor will be responsible for all traffic control, including furnishing and maintaining all signs, flags, flag-persons, barricades and lights where required, to protect the safety of the traveling public, all in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices currently adopted by the Federal Highway Administration and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation supplement. All work will be done under traffic unless otherwise directed by the Town. B. Final Lump Sum total cost for the road, based on the road's actual width, length and all road prep costs. All road prep must be completed prior to Seal Coat. C. Seal coat shall be in conformance with Standard specifications attached. This item shall consist of supplying and placement of a single application seal coat to a previously completed pavement surface in accordance with the specifications and as shown on the plans, or as established by the Town.
