The Gordon County School System requests your proposal for the removal and installation of ceiling tiles and grids at Red Bud Elementary. Only vendors that attend the mandatory meeting may email questions to Mr. Ron Norrell, Facility Director, by e-mail (rnorrell@gcbe.org). The deadline for questions is no later than April 25, 2025 12:00 pm EST. Response to all questions shall be emailed to the vendors who attended the Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting no later than April 30, 2025 at 2:00 pm EST. If the Bid exceeds $100,000.00, Bidders will be required to furnish a 5% Surety Bid Bond with their Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish Performance and a Payment Bonds in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Amount and issued by a Corporate Surety authorized to conduct business in the State of Georgia. Each Bond shall be accompanied by a "Power of Attorney" authorizing the attorney-in-fact to bind the surety and certified to include the date of the bond GCSS reserves the right to accept or reject all offers, or to waive any irregularity in proposals received, whichever is in the best interest of GCSS. Additionally, the GCSS may unilaterally terminate this contract in whole or in part, for the school system's convenience, availability of unobligated funds, or because of the failure of the contractor to fulfill the contract obligations in any respect. Removal of Existing Ceiling System o Carefully remove the existing ceiling grid and ceiling tiles. o Properly dispose of all removed materials. o Ensure protection of existing HVAC, electrical, and fire systems during demolition. Installation of New Ceiling System o Supply and install new 2x2 ceiling grid system that meets industry standards and project specifications. o Supply and install new ceiling tiles in accordance with selected specifications. o Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and secure installation of ceiling components. o Accommodate all existing HVAC vents, lighting fixtures, and other ceiling-mounted elements. Compliance and Coordination o Work must comply with all applicable building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards. o Contractor must coordinate with the owner's representatives and other contractors to minimize disruptions to facility operations. o Perform quality control checks to ensure proper installation and finishing. Site Cleanup and Final Inspection o Remove all debris and construction materials from the site. o Conduct a final walkthrough with the owner's representative to ensure work is completed to satisfaction. o Address any deficiencies before project closeout.
