Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center; for site work for a fitness / recreation center; swimming pool; and swimming pool.
The actual services to be performed will be determined by the city, to include - but not limited to - the following areas: Thoroughly prep, gelcoat, and clean interior and exterior surface of 120' open flume body slide at indoor facility. Remove all calcium build-up, dirt, grime, and other surface contaminants from surfaces to ensure adhesion of coatings to fiberglass surface. Sand surfaces to create an adequate adhesion profile for the gel coat Remove all powder and dust created from sanding the surface with a high pressure air hose, commercial vacuum cleaner and/or pressure washer Repair any minor damage to the fiberglass within the interior ride path Apply gelcoat on the interior in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines and to the dry film thickness mils required by the slide manufacturer (WhiteWater) Ensure that the gelcoat does not bridge over seams Wet-sand gelcoat to remove any undesirable surface imperfections, airborne contaminants and positive or negative profiles that may arise after the final curing stage Re-caulk interior ride path seams Wax the ride path to enhance gloss and ride path velocity All surface coatings shall be sprayed, not hand applied. When spraying surface coatings, spray protection draping must be hung to protect the surrounding areas, including the slide tower, pool, pool deck, and surrounding amenities. The pool area will be closed to the public for the duration of the project, but the remainder of the Recreation Center will remain operational, including portions of the building immediately adjacent to work area. Conduct work so that city operations will not be disrupted. Quality Assurance Experience and knowledge for commercial water slide and amusement attraction work like that indicated for this project. Regulatory requirements: comply with governing EPA and OSHA notification regulations before starting selective demolition. Comply with hauling and disposal regulations of agencies having jurisdiction. Examination Inventory and record the condition of items to be removed and reinstalled and items to be removed and salvaged. When unanticipated mechanical, electrical, or structural elements that conflict with the intended function or design are encountered, investigate, and measure the nature and extent of the conflict. Promptly submit a written report to the city. Product Specifications Industry standard gelcoat that meets manufacturer's recommendations and/or guidelines Industry appropriate caulk with a cure time compatible with a slide startup on Tuesday, August 25, 2025 Experience/Qualifications The installer shall provide documentation providing a minimum of five (5) successful projects of similar scope and complexity with current contact information and phone number. The installer shall provide documentation/certification that the laborers performing the work on site have applicable knowledge for the work to be completed. Installation Specifications Follow manufacturer guidelines Submittals Submit gelcoat colors available Submit product literature Submit all documents required above for experience and qualification Provide subcontractor qualification if applicable Environmental Requirements Equipment shall match or exceed existing structure and equipment. Comply with governing environmental protection regulations. Remove and transport debris in a manner that will prevent spillage on adjacent surfaces and areas. Demolition and repair must meet applicable codes. Preparation Conduct demolition operations and remove debris to ensure minimum interference with roads, streets, walks, and other adjacent occupied and used facilities. Do not close or obstruct streets, walks, or other adjacent occupied or used facilities without permission from Owner and authorities having jurisdiction. Provide alternate routes around closed or obstructed traffic ways if required by governing regulations. Conduct work operations to prevent injury to people and damage to adjacent buildings and facilities to remain. Ensure safe passage of people around work area. Erect temporary protection, such as walks, fences, railings, canopies, and covered passageways, where required by authorities having jurisdiction. Cover and protect furniture, furnishings, and equipment that have not been removed. Protect air-handling equipment. Protect pool equipment. Comply with all federal, State, and local safety regulations. Cleaning After work of this section has been completed, clean-up work area and remove all equipment, excess materials, and debris. Protect mechanical and chemical equipment from damage until time of final completion. At turnover to Owner, Contractor shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Vacuuming and cleaning floors and surfaces impacted by work Removal of any debris on pool equipment or pool deck Question Acceptance Deadline:April 10, 2025, 2:00pm
