Work includes new gypsum and metal stud insulated partitions to subdivide an existing classroom into new offices, a small classroom, and a research area. An existing break room will be converted into a new office. Another existing break room will also be renovated. Refer to Section 01 2300 for Alternates. The Base Bid will be include some new casework in existing break room. An additive alternate provides all new Plastic Laminate Casework in the break room. A second additive alternate provides STC Rated doors in lieu of standard doors. In a third additive alternate, new lighting will be contractor furnished and contractor installed in lieu of owner furnished contractor installed. Fire rated walls and doors are required (refer to Life Safety Plan). All walls and partitions (rated and non rated) shall extend from floor to bottom of structure above - seal as required for fire ratings and for acoustical purposes. Work includes selective demolition, new finishes, ceilings, doors, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical. Project is to be phased such that all renovations to room 467 are complete before renovations to room 461 begin. Refer to contract documents for full scope of work. Uab School of Health Professions - 4th Floor Renovation Prime Contractors That Are Properly Licensed for This Type of Work Are Required to Prequalify in Order to Bid.
