Site work for a road / highway in Ottawa, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

.1The Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the work items presented herein, and as shown in the Construction Drawings and Technical Specifications for Contract No. CF000579 (including Part 1, Part 2 and any Provisional Items), to construct, maintain and repair the final cover system: .1 Project startup including mobilization to the Site. 2 Conduct Pre-Construction Inspection of Contract Area and areas hydraulically downgradient of the Contract Area, including photographs, and topographic Pre-Construction Survey of the Contract Area for submission to the Contract Administrator prior to commencing construction. 3 Provide, for approval by the Contract Administrator and/or Owner prior to commencing construction, and implement and execute Health and Safety Plan, Erosion and Sediment Control Plan, Environmental Control Plan, Construction Access Plan, Dewatering Plan and Landfill Gas Collection System Protection Measures Plan. 4 Provide temporary protection for existing monitoring wells and landfill gas wells prior to commencement of and during construction. 5 Provide assistance to Comcor Environmental (Utility Representative and Utility Locator for the landfill gas collection system) to adjust the landfill gas collection system if required to permit execution of the Contract. Comcor will submit invoices to the Contractor which shall be included as part of the progress payment certificates. 6 Construct and maintain construction haul/access roads, staging areas and access routes as identified on the Construction Drawings, including hauling materials as required. .7 Undertake general construction dewatering in accordance with Section F-0579-05 of these Technical Specifications as necessary to maintain the work area in a dewatered state. 8 Remove existing geomembrane from interim cover system where present within the Stage 4 Construction Area and dispose as directed on Site. 9 Remove and dispose existing perimeter ditch culvert crossings. .10 Remove existing Stage 4 abandoned access road ditch crossings. .11 Expose existing final cover components to the east on Stage 3B to the extent required to tie-in the new final cover system as per the Construction Drawings and Technical Specifications. 12 Regrade the interim cover surface, and load, haul and place additional soil material from on-site sources provided at no supply cost to the Contractor as required to achieve the design grades. 13 Supply and place separator geotextile layer on regraded interim cover surface. 14 Load, haul, place and compact bedding layer (material available on-site, as shown on the Construction Drawings, at no supply cost to the Contractor). 15 Supply and place 1.0 mm (40 mil) thick linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) geomembrane on the bedding layer, including welding to existing geomembrane on Stage 3B to the east, and geomembrane boots. 16 Supply and place biplanar geocomposite drainage layer over the geomembrane, including sewing to existing geocomposite drainage layer on Stage 3B to the east. 17 Supply, load, haul, place and compact lower general cover soil layers. 18 Load, haul, place and compact upper general cover soil layers (material available at on-site, as shown on the Construction Drawings, at no supply cost to the Contractor). 19 Supply and construct subsurface drainage network, including connection to existing drainage pipe network on Stage 3B on the east side. 20 Supply and construct subsurface mid-slope drains. 21 Supply and construct drainage ditching and spillways. Load, haul and place topsoil over general cover soil layer (material available at Barnsdale Property, as shown on the Construction Drawings, at no supply cost to the Contractor). 22 Supply and install erosion control blanket. 23 Supply and install turf reinforcement mat. 24 Supply and install geosynthetic cementitious composite mat. 25 Supply and install tied concrete block mat. 26 Supply and place (hydraulically) organic growth media, mulch and grass seed over topsoil. 27 Construct Stage 4 North/South final cover termination as shown on the Construction Drawings. 28 Supply and place geosynthetic marker signs at Stage 4 North/South/West anchor trench limits. 29 Supply and install any temporary works and/or control measures required to protect the Installed final cover during winter weather between Stage 4 North and Stage 4 South construction efforts. 30 Overall site restoration, including removal of all temporary works and control measures and return of all areas within the Contract Area outside of the Final Cover Construction Area (e.g., the construction staging area and access/haul areas) to original or better condition. 31 Demobilization and project close-out. The Contractor is to supply all equipment, materials and labour required to complete the Work, except where otherwise indicated. Work shall conform to the Construction Drawings and Technical Specifications subject to modifications deemed necessary during execution of the Work and approved by the Contract Administrator. Work completed in excess of the Construction Drawings and Specifications will not be paid unless payment has been approved in writing by the Contract Administrator or Owner. At the time of tendering, the Tenderer shall submit, with its Tender, a deposit in the form of an electronic bid bond from the Tenderer's surety in favour of the City of Ottawa. The amount of the Tender deposit shall equal at least ten percent (10%) of the Total Tender Price.
