Project consists of the installation of a new 75,000-gallon elevated water storage tank, approximately 2,500 LF of 6", 8", and 12" water main, two valve vaults, control valves, electrical and controls, and miscellaneous associated work. Site Directions: The Project is located in the northeast corner of the intersection of Highway 4/Fitzpatrick Street and Jay Street. The Project has an expected duration of 437 calendar days to Substantial Completion and 472 calendar days for Final Completion. Work on the Project shall commence on the date specified in the written Notice to Proceed. A Bid must be accompanied by Bid security as required by Iowa Code section 26.8, as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of contract a corporate surety bond, acceptable to the Owner, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the amount of the contract. The bid security shall be made payable to Owner in an amount of five (5) percent of Bidder's maximum Bid price (determined by adding the base bid and all alternates) and shall be in the form of a cashier's check or certified check drawn on a state-chartered or federally chartered bank, or a certified share draft drawn on a state-chartered or federally chartered credit union, or a Bid bond (on the form included in the Bidding Documents) issued by a surety meeting the requirements of Paragraphs 6.01 of the General Conditions. A Pre-Bid Conference is not anticipated for this project. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and irregularities in the form of the bid, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the Owner.
