The City of Downey is hereby soliciting formal proposals for Landscape Maintenance Services for Parks. Public Facilities and On-Street Landscape Maintenance Services. Proposals are being solicited from qualified Service Providers to provide routine landscape maintenance services for specified City parks, public facilities and miscellaneous parkways throughout the City. The initial term of the proposed contract will be for two years, with the option to extend up to three additional one-year periods with City Manager approval. Services under this contract are expected to commence on August 1, 2025. A detailed description of the services to be rendered is included in the contract attached to this Request for Proposals. There are two parts to the proposal Part A is the Landscape Maintenance for the Parks and Facilities and Part B is the for the On-Street Landscape Maintenance. The City of Downey encompasses approximately 12.3 square miles and has a population of 115,000 residents. There are 112 acres of landscaped park space, 13 landscaped city facilities, one cemetery, 12 miles of landscaped medians along with corresponding parkways, sound walls parking lots and well sites. The selected landscape service provider is expected to provide the necessary labor force to satisfactorily maintain the City's landscaped areas. A unique feature is the Downey Cemetery. To properly maintain the cemetery the landscape service provider will be required to provide a separate crew to do the once weekly landscape maintenance.
