Mill Creek Pool and Splashpad Improvements The City of Olathe serves as the county seat of Johnson County, KS. It is the fourth largest city in Kansas serving a population of more than 140,000. Olathe continues to be a desirable place to live and raise a family in large part due to the quality of life and services the City provides, including great schools, parks, trails, and aquatic facilities. Mill Creek pool is one of 4 outdoor pools in the City and the oldest. This neighborhood pool located in downtown at the intersection of E.Poplar St. & N. Woodland St., is a public facility for one of the oldest parts of Olathe, and serves as the host facility for swim lessons. The purpose of this RFQ is to seek a full-service consulting firm/or team with expertise in aquatic design, engineering, landscape architecture and site design, and architecture. The City's goal is to make improvements to and/or reconstruction of the Mill Creek Pool facility and potential improvements and/or planning for future amenity enhancements to the surrounding park. Improvements and recommendations should align with the Olathe 2040 Strategic Plan as well as the Parks & Recreation Master Plan. The selected firm/or team must be capable of creatively designing within budgetary constraints while assisting the city with estimating, evaluating, prioritizing, developing, and executing improvement plans.
