The University of South Carolina is to solicit bids from qualified vendors to replace the existing book security gates at the USC Aiken Campus library with new security gates for use with RF Tags on 9.5 Mjz frequency in existing books described herein . SCOPE OF WORK/SPECIFICATIONS The purpose of this solicitation is to solicit bids from qualified vendors to replace the existing book security gates at the USC Aiken library with new security gates for use with RF Tags on 9.5Mjz frequency in existing books described herein. 1. Contractor to provide all labor and materials to remove existing gates, preparation of floors, and installation and testing of new 2 aisle security gates. Gates feature a low frequency signal that minimizes interference with surrounding electronic equipment. 2. Contractor may use existing flooring raceway to route new cable or a base plate with pedestals mounted to a baseplate and pedestal-to-pedestal wiring routed through the baseplate 3. Gates to provide the following features: a. Aisle widths which comply with ADA and DDA guidelines b. Integrated audio and visual alarm to alert staff when an item containing secured RF Tags, detected. Configurable alarm color options. c. Integrated directional patron counter d. Auxiliary contacts for signaling remote devices, such as camera systems and gates 4. Owner will provide a 120V outlet within 10 feet to support the gates. 5. Contractor to dispose of all waste and keep a clean site. 6. Contractor to work with USCA staff on coordinating installation to limit disruption to library operations. 7. Basis of design is Bibliotheca tattle-tap gate, two aisle system, GATE 901353-000 or approved equal. 8. Contactor to provide submittal to owner for approval prior to ordering of equipment. 9. Contractor to verify field conditions to ensure gates fit and function in areas specified at library
