Site work for a municipal facility in Kelowna, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a municipal facility.
The City completed Phase 1 of the Aerated Static Pile (ASP) Composting System at the Glenmore Landfill in 2024 and plans to construct Phase 2 in 2026/2027. Phase 2 will closely resemble Phase 1 which was supplied by Engineered Compost Systems. The city aims to engage a capable General Contractor to cultivate an early collaborative problem-solving culture in the project. The objective is to address key constructability challenges and minimize uncertainty in scope and long lead items during the design phase, prior to entering the Construction phase. The project includes but is not limited to the following: Sub-contract with Engineered Compost Systems as the supplier of a positive and negative aerated static pile composting system capable of receiving municipal yard waste and produce 143 tonnes/day of Class 'A' primary compost according to Environment Management Act and Public Health Act, Organic Matter Recycling Regulation for BC. All related civil, mechanical and electrical works to supply, construct and commission the ASP as designed by the engineering consultant with all auxiliary components, controls, and biofilter odour control system (referred herein as the "System").
