The work consists of hopper dredging with placement and grading of up to 1,009,200 cubic yards of beach fill material on 38,125 linear feet of beach on Oak Island. Turtle trawling/relocation as well as beach tilling may also be required. Project description: The Work includes the provision of labor, materials, equipment, and services required to complete the Oak Island Renourishment Project 2025/2026 as described in the Bidding Documents, Contract Documents, plans, and specifications. The work generally consists of the following: 1. Base Bid: Dredging by hopper dredge(s) from the designated OSOKI borrow area, transport, placement, and grading of 1,009,200 cubic yards of beach quality fill material on 38,125 linear feet of beach (Stations 299+00 to 680+25) in Oak Island as identified in the plans. 2. Hopper dredging will be permitted in all zones of the OSOKI borrow area. Limitations are identified in the Technical Specifications and Plans 3. Tilling of the constructed beach may be required in accordance with requirements of the Contract Documents, specifications, and permits. Tilling may be required outside the current project limits but in no event off the beach or outside of the Town limits. 4. Relocation trawling (hopper dredging only), if required, in accordance with requirements of the Contract Documents, specifications, and permits. 5. Restoration of accesses, staging areas, and infrastructure to conditions equivalent to or better than those existing before construction.
