Recreational fishing is prevalent year-round as is the use of the boat ramp. recreational as well as commercial boaters use this facility to access Wimbee Creek, the Combahee River and St. Helena Sound. Due to the hazardous condition of the existing pier. which is an abandoned railroad trestle, the fishing pier has been closed since 2024. Returning this community feature to usefulness with the use of LID practices and sustainable materials and practices will make the Wimbee Creek Boat Rampa and Fishing Pier the amenity it used to be for the residents.
