Renovation of an educational facility in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Connecticut Technical Education and Career Systems (CTECS) of Hartford, Connecticut isrequesting bids from qualified Contractors for the above mentioned project. Questions concerning the proposal shall be directed to Micah Messer Micah.Messer@cttech.org. Allquestion should be submitted as soon as possible and will only be answered until 4/28/2025 at3:00PM EST for everyone and 5/1/2025 at 12:00PM EST for people that attended the prebidwalkthrough. After that time, no more questions will be answered. CTECS reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, and in particular, to reject a proposal that issubmitted incomplete or irregular. CTECS reserves the right to waive any informality or irregularityin any proposal received, to negotiate changes to offered terms and to accept the proposal that, in itsjudgment, will be in the best interest of CTECS.This installation project will consist of installing Smartboards, ADA audio system in classrooms,audio in the cafeteria and audio/projector in the multipurpose room. All required parts numbers willbe listed in Bid Item sheet. The installation will be performed per the manufacturer's specificationsand locations will be by architecture's design that will be identified during walkthrough. Installer isrequired to supply all hardware and tools needed to perform the installation..1.To maintain consistency within the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System, noalternate model numbers or manufacturers will be considered.2.Respondents are required to submit a list of three projects, similar in size and scope that theyhave completed in the past three years. Please provide a contact name and number of theprimary contact for each project, who may be contacted to provide reference information.3.Respondents are required to have a DAS Contractor Prequalification letter. The DAS ContractorPrequalification Program, Connecticut General Statues Section 4a-100, requires all contractorsto prequalify "before they can bid on any construction, alteration, remodeling, repair ordemolition of any public building (does not apply to road construction), for work by the state ora municipality, estimated to cost more than $500,000 and which is funded in whole or in partwith state funds.4.All areas of work shall be completed by the awarded vendor. The awarded vendor shall not useany sub-contractors as quality of work is essential to ongoing performance and all postinstallation services must be maintained by the successful vendor.5.Respondents are required to use SMART Certified Installers(Copy of certification of all SMART Certified Installers must be included with your bid)6.Respondents are required to provide training from a SMART Certified Trainer(Copy of certification of all SMART Certified Trainers must be included with your bid)7.Respondents are required to use State Of Connecticut Licensed E1,E2,L5,L6, C5, C6, T1 Or T2Installers (Copy of all Installers licenses must be included with your bid)8.This project is a Prevailing Wage project. Licensed laborers shall be paid accordance with allConnecticut labor laws. Pursuant to Section 2-559 (B), Required Provisions. Each Agreementfor the construction, remodeling or repair of any Infrastructure Facilities shall contain thefollowing provisions: "The wages paid to any mechanic, laborer or workman employed uponthe work herein contracted to be done shall be at a rate equal to the prevailing wage rate inthe State of Connecticut and or federal government, whichever is applicable, for the same workin the same trade or occupation." Labor rates are provided for your reference in the biddocumentation.9.Respondents are required to use Audio Enhancement EPIC / SAFE Certified Installers.(Copy of certification of all Audio Enhancement EPIC / SAFE Certified Installers must beincluded with your bid)10. Audio Enhancement Audio System / Public Address System Training Performed By An EPIC /SAFE Certified Trainer (Copy of certification of all Audio Enhancement EPIC / SAFE CertifiedTrainers must be included with your bid)11. The selected bidder will be responsible for committing to timeframes and schedules based ondeadlines that will be established by the customer.12. The successful vendor shall agree to maintain in force at all times during the contract thefollowing minimum coverage and shall name the Connecticut Technical Education and CareerSystem as an Additional Insured on a primary and non-contributory basis to all policies exceptWorkers Compensation.13. All garbage will be removed offsite and disposed of in a legal manor on a daily basis. Thesuccessful vendor is responsible to clean up every area they were in and restore it to thecondition they found it in.14. The successful vendor is also responsible for all damages that may be caused during theinstallation. They should document any issues they find before starting the room.15. If the Smartboards are delayed we would require the bidder to proceed with the installation ofall wiring and speakers as soon as possible to have the room ready in advance of theinstallation of the Smart boards.
