The scope of this project is to include vegetation control within identified areas of work on Hibbing Public Utility Commission's electric distribution system. Vegetation control will include, but is not limited to, methods of work to clear around electrical overhead primary distribution lines (voltages up to 23kV), overhead low voltage secondaries, streetlights and other utility equipment, fiber and telecom pole joint use attaching entities, and single service lines within the areas described herein. The overall scope of this project requires control and management work to trim at and around pole-top to the groundline, not limited to pruning within only the power supply zone. We recognize there could be instances where a less invasive approach to control vegetation will be requested and sometimes necessary. Any deviation from trimming to groundline requires prior approval from HPUC management. The right-of-way shall be free of all obstructions which interfere with the construction and operation of the electric power line. The work shall be completed in conformance with these Specifications and all other provisions of the contract documents. The Contractor shall observe all conditions applicable to any particular description or tract of land. The Contractor shall also observe and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, safety code applicable to their operations. The Contractor will be responsible for planning, coordination, and customer service on HPUC's behalf. This includes any planning or coordination required with HPUC joint use attachment entities. The Contractor is required to notify our HPU ratepayers before work commences via mailed postcard and/or door knock-hanger. Project customer communication material requires preapproval by HPUC management.
