SCOPE The City of West Palm Beach (“City”) is soliciting bids from responsible and experienced contractors to provide all labor, materials, services, skills, supervision, tools, ladders, lifts, scaffolding and any other equipment necessary to remove existing window treatments, and to furnish and install approximately 135 new window treatments at the Mandel Public Library in West Palm Beach, Florida. Note that some of the blinds to be installed are located in windows up to twenty (20) feet from the floor and accessible only via ladder, lift or scaffolding. Contractor shall be responsible for the proper disposal of the existing blinds. Contractor shall have the capability to perform and complete the services in accordance with the terms and provisions of the solicitation documents and the contract. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE The Bidder must demonstrate that Bidder has successfully furnished and installed blinds of a similar size, location/height and quantity as required in this solicitation in a commercial or public environment for a minimum of three (3) clients in the past three (3) years. LOCATION The Mandel Public Library is located at 403 Clematis Street, West Palm Beach, Florida, 33401. The library spans approximately 80,000 square feet and the windows range in size from three (3) feet by seven (7) feet to twentyfour (24) by eight (8) feet. See Schedule of Bid Items for sizes and quantities. SPECIFICATIONS / MATERIALS REQUIRED The blinds to be furnished shall be Eco-Bright white, two (2) inch faux wood horizontal blinds with cordless lift and ring tilt or equal. Employee Uniforms & Equipment. The Contractor’s employees shall, at all times, wear a uniform or shirt bearing the Contractor’s company name. The Contractor shall ensure that all its employees involved in the performance of this Contract are provided, trained in the use of, and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Conditions and Packaging. Any item offered or shipped as a result of this solicitation shall be new (current production model) unless otherwise stated. PRICES Prices shall include all labor, materials, shipping costs, services, skills, supervision, tools, ladders, lifts, scaffolding and any other equipment necessary to furnish and install the window treatments. Taxes. Contractor is not exempt from paying sales tax to Contractor’s suppliers for goods and materials required for the City. Contractor shall not be authorized to use the City’s tax exemption number for purchasing supplies or materials.
