Renovation of a library in New Paltz, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 3,200-square-foot library.

The project is awarded to Maeda Construction with an awarded amount of 60,188.00. The work to be done under the Contract, in accordance with the Contract Documents, consists of installing Owner-supplied ceiling tiles, furnishing and installing any accessory materials, equipment, labor, and incidentals necessary for the construction of Project Number 24:12, titled Ceiling Tile Replacement - Sojourner Truth Library; and carrying out all duties and obligations imposed upon the contractor by the Contract Documents. All Work on This Contract is to Be Completed Within 18 Days After the Date of the Notice to Proceed Security Will Be Required for Each Bid in an Amount Not Less Than Five (5) Percent of the Total Bid. It is the Policy of the State of New York and the State University of New York to Encourage Minority and Women, and Sdvob Business Enterprise Participation in This Project by Contractors, Subcontractors and Suppliers, and All Bidders Are Expected to Cooperate in Implementing This Policy. The State University of New York Reserves the Right to Reject Any or All Bids." The work to be done under the Contract, in accordance with the Contract Documents, consists of installing supplied ceiling tiles, furnishing and installing any accessory materials, equipment, labor, and incidentals necessary for the construction of Project Number 24:12, titled Ceiling Tile Replacement - Sojourner Truth Library; and carrying out all duties and obligations imposed upon the contractor by the Contract Documents. The main features of the work shall include, but not be limited to the following: 1. Installation only of approx. 3,200sf of new 2'x2' CertainTeed Brand, Ecophon Focus Dg, Acoustic Ceiling Tile (noted as APC-1 on drawings) in the Sojourner Truth Library (Main Floor); work includes the removal and disposal of existing acoustic ceiling tile, installation of new (supplied by SUNY New Paltz) acoustic ceiling tile in existing ceiling tile grid, removal and reinstallation of ceiling mounted devices in project area, and verification of continuing function of reinstalled devices. 2. Ceiling devices include (18) small round recessed light fixtures, (9) Microlinea "strip" fluorescent recessed light fixtures, (4) occupancy sensors, (2) exit light signs, (5) fire protection annunciators (speakers), (7) smoke detectors, (25) fire protection sprinkler heads, (4) HVAC diffusers and (5) return grilles, (12) linear diffusers, (1) AV mount for a monitor, and (2) CCTV cameras. 3. Ceiling height in the M-10 Main Floor Gallery area is 11'-0". Ceiling Height in the M-10A Main Floor area is 11'-4". Ceiling Height in the S5-M Stair No.5 Area is 12'-0" above the main floor, and 15', 21' & 24' above the three landings, and requires scaffolding to access the ceiling. 4. Ceiling tile manufacturer requires all cut edges to be sealed with manufacturer's recommended sealant and cut with manufacturer's recommended ceiling tile cutter (to be supplied by Contractor) to ensure warranted installation. Reference manufacturer's specification sheet, attached. 5. The new acoustic ceiling tile is currently stored in the Receiving Dept. located in the Service Building on Campus. The contractor is to provide the means to pick up and bring the ceiling tile to the Sojourner Truth Library for installation. 6. Supplemental scope: A Fire Alarm impairment may need to be arranged when working on ceiling tiles containing smoke detectors.
