Site work and paving for a road / highway in Arkansas City, Kansas. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Due to increased traffic and a large quantity of semi-truck traffic using Summit Street through Arkansas City, significant wear and tear has been placed on the Summit Street corridor and intersection of Summit St and Skyline Rd. This mill and overlay will address this entire section. This will be funded using KDOT Cost Share monies, along with matching funds from the Special Highway Fund This project is in included in the City of Arkansas City FY 2025-2034 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of April 21, 2025, information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. A firm construction timeline has not been released. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
