Work will be let under one prime contract, to the lowest responsible bidder. Further, all questions regarding the Plans and Specifications should be submitted to the architect in writing prior to the Pre-Bid Meeting. The architect may be contacted at 708-747-3600. ALL BIDDERS MUST BEPRE-QUALIFIED. If not pre-qualified, complete A.I.A. Document A-305 (Contractors Qualification Statement)for consideration before picking up Plans & Specifications. A 10% Bid Bond will be required of all bidders. A 100% Performance Bond and a Labor/Material Bond will be required of the successful bidder, written by a Surety approved by the Owner. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond for an amount not less than ten percent (10%)of the total amount of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the Contract, will furnish a satisfactory performance and payment bond, execute the Contract and proceed with the work. Upon failure to do so, the bidder shall forfeit the amount deposited as liquidated damages and no mistakes or errors on the part of the bidder shall excuse the bidder or entitle him to a return of the aforementioned amount. Bidders will examine the plans and specifications and the location in which saidwork is to be done and judge for themselves all the circumstances and surrounding conditions affecting the cost and nature of the work, and all bids will be presumed to be based on such examination, familiarity and judgment n order to show good faith efforts to meet the current 30% participation goal on a contract, the bidder must either a) meet the BEP goal and document its commitments for participation of BEP firms, or b) when it does not meet the BEP goal, documentits Good Faith Efforts to try to meet the goal. The Board of Trustees, Community College District #510, South Holland, Illinois, reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and award the bid in the manner that best serves the interests of the Owner.
