Renovation of a library in Riverdale, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.
The Project includes temporary relocation of books, shelving, and select office furniture within the building; removal and off-site disposal of designated existing flooring; floor preparation; installation of new carpet tiles and base; and returning all temporarily relocated items directed by Library staff. Removal of existing carpeting and installation of carpet tiles shall be performed in accordance with the following specifications: Temporary relocation of books and shelving within the building as needed, and return of all items to their original locations upon project completion or as specified by library staff. Furnish and install carpet tiles per contract requirements. Remove and legally dispose of existing carpeting off-site. Prepare subfloor surfaces for proper installation, including removal of adhesives or application of skim coat/primer as necessary to meet manufacturer warranty requirements; include padding considerations if required. Use safe, manufacturer-approved adhesives. Provide care and maintenance instructions for installed carpet tiles. Supply 3-5% additional carpet tiles for future replacement, along with any unused project materials. Provide a ten-year warranty on carpet tiles and a one-year warranty on materials and workmanship. Provide manufacturer warranties and related care information. Pricing must be itemized for the following locations: Main Floor, Youth Services (teens), Youth Services (children), Meeting room, Circulation, 3 Office Areas (Tech/Storage/Admin), All Areas Combined (Lump Sum). All areas currently carpeted shall be fully replaced with new carpet tiles. However, the Board reserves the right to award a contract for a reduced portion of the specified scope if deemed in the best interest of the Library. Variation in carpet style/highlights is encouraged for the Youth Services Area. Bidders must provide material samples at the time of bid submission or prior to award.
