Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in La Porte, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

CONTRACT 1 consists of the furnishing of all equipment, labor and materials for the construction of approximately 837 linear feet of 12-inch diameter watermain, 217 linear feet of 16-inch diameter water main, and 6,795 linear feet of 18-inch diameter water main between two new ground water pumps and the water treatment facility as described in the Contract Documents as well as the installation of sanitary force main pipe over segments of the project length. CONTRACT 2 consists of the furnishing of all equipment to install Well Site 11 and Well Site 12 including site clearing, proposed well house, earthwork, piping, fencing, and all appurtenances for a complete and functional installation. Bids shall be properly and completely executed on the Bid Form and must be accompanied by Contractor's Bid for Public Work - Form 96, signed copy of all Addenda (if issued) and satisfactory bid security. Bidders may submit for a bid package for either CONTRACT 1 or CONTRACT 2 or may submit 2 separate bid packages for both. Contracts shall be awarded separately. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to the City of LaPorte or an acceptable bid bond in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the total bid amount executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. Bid security may be retained by the City for a period of not-to-exceed ninety (90) days for all bidders. BONDS: The successful Bidder will be required to provide separate Performance and Labor and Material Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount. Bidders must be experienced in the construction of the type of facilities to be built under the contract for which a bid is submitted. No bidder may withdraw his or her proposal within a period of 90 days following the date set for receiving bids. The City of La Porte, Indiana, Board of Public Works and Safety reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more that 90 days and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Board further reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding, should the Board deem it to be in the public interest to do so.
