As of November 21, 2025, no bids were received. It is anticipated that this project will be rebid in 2026. Question Submission Deadline:May 6, 2025, 2:00pm The project consists of removal of existing ceilings, asbestos abatement of existing water pipe insulation, and installation of new suspended acoustic tile ceilings. Work under this Contract includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Erection of temporary fences, barricades, and other safety measures, as necessary, to protect school staff, visitors, and the public from the work and materials storage areas. 2. Temporarily relocate existing school furnishings and kitchen equipment as required to perform the work areas to designated storage areas as required to access the work areas. 3. Verification of operation of the existing school fire alarm and P.A. systems, including but not limited to all control panels, strobes, pull stations, speakers, amps, receivers & wiring. This work must be checked, verified, and documented prior to any demolition work in the school. The findings of these systems' operation or lack of, are to be documented to the Architect prior to any demolition work starting. 4. Remove and store for reinstallation existing mechanical and electrical items mounted in existing suspended acoustical tile ceiling. 5. Remove existing suspended acoustical ceiling tiles. 6. Temporarily support existing low voltage cables laying on top of suspended acoustical tile ceilings. 7. Temporarily support existing mechanical and electrical items attached to existing concealed spline ceilings and wood framing. 8. Remove existing suspended acoustical tile ceiling grid. 9. Remove existing concealed spline ceilings located above suspended ceiling, and nonstructural wood framing for concealed spline ceilings. 10. Abate existing asbestos containing water pipe insulation, and replace with new water pipe insulation. 11. Install existing electrical and mechanical items previously attached to existing concealed spline ceilings and wood framing at corridors to new steel ceiling joists. 12. Support existing low voltage cables previously laying on top of existing suspended acoustical tile ceilings to a side wall or to the building structure with J hooks, cable ties, straps, clamps, or hangers, to comply with 2017 NEC Section 393.14. 13. Renovate existing electrical work uncovered after demolition as directed by Architect that is not in compliance with applicable electrical code. This work is to be performed under the cost allowance specified in Section 01 21 13 - COST ALLOWANCES. 14. Install new suspended acoustical tile ceiling system. 15. Reinstall items mounted in existing suspended acoustical tile ceiling system in their original location. 16. Relocate existing stored school furnishings and equipment to their original room/location. 17. At the conclusion of work, clean building to preconstruction condition. 18. Repair any existing construction damaged during the course of the work, including landscaping, lawn, sidewalks, and interior finishes shall be restored to preconstruction condition. It is anticipated that a Notice to Proceed with the work will be issued for Friday, May 30, 2025
