Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Reading, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The work under this contract consists of performing sidewalk and roadway resurfacing work including but not limited to paving, reclamation, grading, curb, concrete pedestrian wheelchair ramps, bituminous concrete sidewalk located at Birch Meadow School, 27 Arthur B Lord Drive, Reading, MA, as required by the Town. Work is to be done when school is not in session and completed prior to the start of school. The work in this Contract is located at Birch Meadow School, 27 Arthur B Lord Drive, Reading, MA 01867 Each Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount Bid. The successful Bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond satisfactory in form to the Town, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Amount from a surety authorized to do business in the C o m m o n w e a l t h o f M a s sachusetts and acceptable to the Town. It is the responsibility of the prospective bidder to keep current the email address or fax number of the bidder's contact person and to monitor that email inbox or fax for communications from the Town of Reading, including requests for clarification. If any changes are made to this IFB, an addendum will be issued. Addenda will be emailed to all bidders on record as having downloaded the IFB. The Town assumes no responsibility if a prospective bidder's designated email address or fax number is not current, or if technical problems, including those with the prospective bidder's computer, network or internet service provider (ISP) cause email communications sent to/from the prospective bidder to be lost or rejected by any means including email or spam filtering. Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Contractor, before bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those tradespeople who may be employed for the proposed work under this Contract. The bidding and award of this Contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in its best interest. Question Deadline 05/01/2025 Every request for such interpretation shall be in writing (typed, not handwritten) addressed to purchasing@ci.reading.ma.us. It is the bidder's responsibility to confirm that any request has been received. To be given consideration a request must be received at least seven (7) calendar days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. Work shall commence after school ends, June 16, 2025 and shall be completed prior to the start of school at a date no later than August 22, 2025. A. Furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and all incidental work necessary to resurface the bituminous concrete roadway in the drop off area of Birch Meadow School, including but not limited to, pavement reclamation, grading, crack sealing, casting adjustment, bituminous concrete sidewalks, concrete pedestrian wheel chair ramps, and granite curb, as required. B. All work shall be completed when school is not in session during the summer.
