Bituminous Hot-Mix Plant and Equipment o The bituminous mixing plant shall be in reasonable close conformity to the requirements of Section 401. The County will permit a dryer drum mixing plant to be used as an alternate provided the requirements outlined in Section 401.02.05 are met. o Surge/Storage Systems, when used, shall meet the requirements of Sub-Section 401.03.02 D Bituminous Hot-Mix: This item shall be plant-mixed bituminous concrete mixture consisting of asphalt cement and well-graded aggregate, conforming to the requirements stated herein. This item shall be specified as follows: o Category I: Bituminous Concrete Base or Binder o Category II: Bituminous Concrete Surface wherein the 40% natural sand is NOT required o Category Ill: Rubber Modified Asphalt Materials o Unless specified by grade, asphalt cement shall be either viscosity grades AC-10 or AC-20 o Fine aggregates shall meet the applicable requirements of Section 804 o Coarse aggregates shall meet the applicable requirements of Section 805 Hopkins 5. County Fiscal Court reserves the right to waive any informality, to accept the lowest or best bid, and to reject any or all bids. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Local resident bidders may be eligible for a Kentucky resident bidders preference pursuant to KRS 45A.
