The project includes dredging a portion of the east side of the Lake Worth Inlet flood shoal for navigation improvements. The dredging project consists of hydraulic/mechanical dredging of nearly 70,700 CY of material from approximately 8 acres of the Lake Worth Inlet flood shoal. The dredge area is bounded by Peanut Island on the south, the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) on the west, Blue Heron Bridge on north, and the Town of Palm Beach Shores on the east. The project footprint will be dredged to an elevation of -10 ft NAVD + 1 ft overdepth with a volume of approximately 70,700 CY. A volume of approximately 16,320 CY of dredged material will be placed in an existing underwater dredge hole located north of the Blue Heron Bridge in accordance with the permit conditions. The remaining dredged material will be disposed of in the Peanut Island Dredged Material Management Area (DMMA). The Work also includes removing existing channel markers, replacing the decking and railing of a timber boardwalk within the DMMA, and replacing timber flashboards around the drainage culverts within the DMMA. It is anticipated that the successful bidder will be selected, and a contract awarded no later than June 9, 2025. It is further anticipated that a Notice to Proceed will be issued in mid-June 2025 and that construction work will commence no later than early July 2025. In addition, the town will provide transportation to Peanut Island to view the DMMA. We ask all prospective bidders to notify the Town Clerk of their intent to attend the Site Visit no later than the close of business two days prior. Bid proposals must be submitted on the forms provided by the Town of Palm Beach Shores and accompanied by a bid bond security in favor of the Town of Palm Beach Shores in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid price. A public construction bond, in an amount equal to 100% of the total contract price, will be required of the successful bidder within fourteen (14) days of the Notice of Intent to Award. The Town of Palm Beach Shores reserves the right to waive any bid irregularities, informalities, or technical deficiencies and to reject any and all bids. Late bids will be rejected, and the Bid Bond returned. Time is of the essence. The undersigned Bidder agrees that, if awarded the Contract hereunder, it shall commence the Work to be performed under the Contract on the date set by the Town in its written notice to proceed, continuing the Work with diligence and shall Substantially Complete all Work under this Contract in not more than 120 calendar days. Final completion shall be within 30 days after delivery of Owner’s punch list. The undersigned agrees that, if awarded the Contract, it will complete said separable portions of Work in accordance with such date. Substantial Completion is defined in the General Conditions
