Scope Review Meeting (with lowest qualified Bidder) 5/22/2025 10:00 AM This solicitation is for projects less than $1M. Bids over $1M (Including all alternates) cannot be considered by the university The construction is planned to start: July, 1 2025 Construction duration: 3 months LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: Liquidated Damages of Five Hundred Dollars and 00/100 ($500.00) per calendar day shall be assessed if the Contractor fails to achieve Substantial Completion or causes delay to the Substantial Completion of any portion of the work within the Contract Time. PROJECT DESCRIPTION/SCOPE OF WORK: This project entails repairing the exterior masonry walls and roof to make the building watertight and making structural repairs, and includes repointing mortar, replacing broken granite; dismantling and rebuilding a portion of the granite wall; repairing, replacing and adding copper flashing; repairing and replacing membrane roofing; removing and replacing caulking; and other related items. The repairsin this phase are limited to the stair/elevator tower at the eastside of the building. COST PROPOSAL: Submit a Cost Proposal utilizing the Form provided. No substitution of the Form is permitted. Only On-Call $100K - $1M General Contractors are prequalified and may submit a Bid for this Project. Bid Security: Provide a copy of a Bid Bond made out in the penalsum of ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Amount. In lieu of a Bid Bond, a Certified Check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Amount is acceptable. A Bid Bond is only required for any Total Bid Amount over $50,000.00. A Total Bid Amount of $50,000.00 or less does not require a Bid Bond. SET-ASIDE REQUIREMENTS: The Set-Aside Requirement for this Project is that (1) not less than thirty percent (30%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Small Business Enterprises" ("SBEs") and (2) not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Minority Business Enterprises" ("MBEs") (the 10% set aside for MBEs may be included in the 30% set aside for SBEs). If the Contractor is an S/MBE, then any self-performed work may be included in the Set-Aside Requirement.
