The scope of work includes the provision of all items, articles, materials, operations, or methods listed, mentioned, or herein specified including labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary and required for their completion. B. The work includes the furnishing and installing of a complete wet system fire sprinkler system and standpipe systems for all buildings, and shall include fire pumps and ancillary devices if required. C. Fire sprinkler connections to the dedicated main shall be furnished and installed. See Division 33. D. Each floor of the building shall be designed as a separate sprinkler zone and supplied from a standpipe riser located within a stairwell. E. A complete combined automatic wet pipe sprinkler/Class 1 manual wet standpipe system shall be installed throughout the building. The sprinkler system shall be installed in accordance with NFPA 13. Systems, or portions thereof, complying with NFPA 13R will not be accepted as base bid. The standpipe system shall be installed in accordance with NFPA 14. F. A dry system will be provided in building attics as required. Dry pipe valves shall be located one floor below the attic level. Wet pipe systems are preferred where practical. G. The University Fire Marshal will provide the Contractor with water supply flow test information. This information shall be used as the design basis for hydraulic calculations. H. The system designer shall assume a 150psi inlet pressure at the remote fire department connection for purposes of sizing the standpipe system for required flow. I. Tests: 1. Test underground service piping in accordance with NFPA 24. 2. Test overhead sprinkler piping in accordance with NFPA 13. 3. Test standpipe piping in accordance with NFPA 14. J. Related Work: 1.
