The scope of work includes removal of existing lighting, signage, exterior plaster, portions of walls for windows/doorways, improvement and renovation to the existing building facade at 330 West Santa Fe Avenue, including new plaster, new storefront windows, new curb, new tile and brick, new awning, new exterior lighting and all items not mentioned but included in the plans and specifications. Copies of paint testing and risk assessment documents shall be provided to the City before the work begins. A successful clearance examination shall be performed, and the results shall be provided to the City prior to payment for lead abatement work. All work must be performed in accordance with the plans and specifications for this project and as directed by the City The project includes providing all labor, materials, equipment, tools and incidentals as required to construct fabricate and install a bay door replacement. This includes removal and disposal of the existing door, track and mounting hardware as well as purchase and installation of like replacement. All work must be performed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications for this project. The materials furnished and used shall be new except as specifically provided on the plans. Should any items or details to make a complete installation be found missing from the plans and specifications, Contractor is responsible to provide missing items for a complete working system. Before starting any construction, the Contractor shall notify the City Engineer in writing, giving the name, address, and telephone number where he can be reached when work is not in progress as well as giving twenty-four (24) hours' notice prior to commencing any construction. Should the progress of the work cease for more than a normal working day, the Contractor shall again notify the City Engineer as to when the work will again begin. Any work done without proper notification shall be subject to disapproval by the City Engineer. Other items of work or details not mentioned above that are required by the plans, Standard Specifications or these Special Provisions, shall be performed, placed, constructed or installed. The Contractor shall be responsible to call Underground Service Alert at 1-800-422-4133 a minimum of five working days prior to any construction. Installation, testing, service and maintenance of systems utilizing the transmission and/or transference of voice, sound, vision and digital for commercial, educational, security and entertainment purposes for the following: TV monitoring and surveillance, background-foreground music, intercom and telephone interconnect, inventory control systems, microwave transmission, multi-media, multiplex, nurse call systems, radio page, school intercom and sound, burglar alarms, fire alarm (see last paragraph below) and low voltage master clock systems in commercial buildings. Communication Systems that transmit or receive information and/or control systems that are intrinsic to the above listed systems; inclusion or exclusion of terminations and testings of conductors determined by their function; excluding all other data systems or multiple systems which include control function or power supply; excluding installation of raceway systems, conduit systems, line voltage work, and energy management systems. Does not cover work performed at China Lake Naval Ordnance Test Station. Fire alarm work shall be performed at the current inside wireman total cost package. The excavation, setting, leveling and grouting of precast manholes, vaults, and pull boxes including ground rods or grounding systems, rock necessary for leveling and drainagae as well as pouring of a concrete envelope if needed.
