Renovation of a military facility in Butner, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a 12,100-square-foot military facility.

This project will combine multiple repairs and capital improvements to an existing Field Maintenance Shop (FMS). FMS 13 consists of an approximately 9,200 SF shop area, a 2,000 SF covered wash rack, and a 900 SF storage building. Planned improvements will include: o Update shop lighting to appropriate LEDs, add light switches at main entrance door o Add electrical outlets along the middle wall of the maintenance bay and along shop desk wall o Remove unused old conduit, piping and outlets o Investigate and properly label the circuits in existing electrical panels o Investigate, repair and/or replace the shop floor heating systems o Install low speed high volume fans for air movement on the shop floor o Replace the shop office area heating unit and window AC units with new system o Replace hose bibs in and outside of the shop o Renovate the bathroom by repairing/replacing broken bathroom fixtures, heating, lights, hose bibs, windows, doors, and adding drop ceilings. o Remove the old roll up doors from the interior of the FMS o Replace failed exterior doors o Paint all walls, grind concrete floors where needed, epoxy concrete floors o Install acoustic noise panels o Site work to improve drainage, install pipes to drain downspouts away from the buildings o Replace wooden siding with fiber cement on outbuilding o Paint outbuilding and wash rack structure This project will utilize 100% Federal funding. Designers will be required to verify existing building conditions and develop priority of items contained in the scope of work. In order to offer architectural, engineering, or landscape architectural services in response to this solicitation, the proposing firm must be properly licensed to practice Architecture, Engineering, or Landscape Architecture in the State of North Carolina. IN ADDITION TO the paper submittals, please email a PDF copy of the Letter of Interest and SF-254 to gail.n.simms.nfg@army.mil for easier electronic sharing with the pre-selection committee members (hard copies are still required). Proposing firms must submit THREE (3) copies of the Letter of Interest and THREE (3) copies of your current Standard Form 254 (SF 254) with the information package. In the interest of cost-savings to the designers, consistency of the submittals and more efficient use of time by the pre-selection committee, the submitted information package should not include any notebooks, binders, tab, clips, etc. The format should be 8-1/2" x 11" pages stapled in the upper left-hand corner. The Letter of Interest should not exceed ten (10) single-sided pages or five (5) double-sided pages plus the SF 254. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
