Renovation of an educational facility in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and 18,000-square-foot educational facility.

**As of June 30, 2025, the project was awarded to Dekievers Roofing but the awarded amount is not available.** Benton Harbor Area Schools (hereinafter referred to as "Owner") is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced roofing contractors (hereinafter referred to as "Bidder" or "Contractor") for the complete replacement of the existing roof on the gymnasium at Benton Harbor High School. The project scope includes, but is not limited to, the removal and disposal of the existing roofing system, installation of a new roofing system, and all associated work as detailed in this RFP, The project scope encompasses the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for the complete replacement of the existing gymnasium roof at Benton Harbor High School. The approximate roof area is 18,000 sq ft. The work includes, but is not limited to: Removal and Disposal: Complete removal and lawful disposal of the existing roofing system, including all layers of roofing material, insulation, flashing, and any other related debris. Disposal must comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Roof Deck Inspection: Inspection of the existing roof deck for any damage or deterioration. The proposal should include pricing for addressing potential deck repairs, although this work will be authorized separately. New Roofing System: Installation of a new PVC or TPO roofing system, including all necessary underlayment, insulation, flashing, edge metal, and accessories. The proposed system must meet or exceed all applicable building codes and manufacturer's specifications. Provide detailed specifications of the proposed roofing materials, including manufacturer, product name, and warranty information. Warranty: Provide a comprehensive warranty for both materials and workmanship. Specify the length of the warranty period. A minimum 15 year warranty is preferred. Clean Up: Thorough cleanup of the work area, including removal of all debris and excess materials. Permits: Obtaining all necessary permits and inspections required for the project. Bid Bond Requirements A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid price is required. The bid bond must be issued by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Michigan. The bid bond must be submitted with the bid proposal. Failure to provide a bid bond will result in disqualification of the bid. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all proposals received in response to this RFP, to waive any irregularities or informalities in the proposals, and to award the contract to the bidder deemed to be in the best interest of the Owner. This RFP constitutes an invitation for proposals and does not constitute a binding contract. A contract will be awarded to the successful bidder only after negotiations and agreement on all terms and conditions
