Site work and new construction of a multi-residential development in Lumberton, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a 87,320-square-foot, 72-unit multi-residential development; and for site work for a multi-residential development.
Request for Prequalification 1st Tier Subcontractors Lumberton Housing Authority / Kimberly Jones Village, Metcon, Inc.- Southeastern General Contractors, as Construction Manager on behalf of Lumberton Housing Authority / Kimberly Jones Village is requesting interested Trade Partners to prequalify. The overall project scope is new seventy-two (72) low-income housing apartments in five (5) separate wood framed buildings encompassing 87,320 GSF with brick and cement board siding and a New Community Center with exterior improvements such as parking, road work, storm drainage system, retention pond, and landscaping. Metals Ornamental Metals Architectural Millwork Wood Framing & Rough Carpentry Waterproofing Insulation Turnkey Roofing Applied Fireproofing Doors Vinyl & Composite Windows Drywall Hard Tile Resilient Flooring & Carpet Epoxy Painting Signage Interior Specialties Residential Equipment Window Treatments Fire Suppression Plumbing HVAC Electrical Sitework Landscaping . It is the goal of the Housing Authority of the City of Lumberton, to promote the opportunity for full participation by minority and women's business enterprises ("MBEs" and "WBEs"), Section 3 residents, and Section 3 businesses in all projects related employment, training, and contracting opportunities to the greatest extent feasible. 2. Encourage Non- MBE's and Non-WBE's to hire MBE's and WBE's Sub-Contractors 3. To ensure that jobs, training and contracting generated by HUD funding shall, to the greatest extent feasible, be directed to low- and very low-income persons, particularly those who are recipients of government assistance for housing, and to business concerns that substantially employ those persons. 4. SMALL, PHA RESIDENT-OWNED, WOMEN-OWNED, MINORITY-OWNED AND SECTION 3 BUSINESSES AND INDIVIDUPARTICIPATION HACL is committed to providing quality housing and economic opportunities for our residents and the neighborhoods we serve. One of the major requirements for this is Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968, which requires that HUD funds provide low-income individuals with a springboard for economic empowerment through direct participation in construction and other activities that are designed to physically improve and revitalize the communities in which they live. It is the policy of the Housing Authority of the City of Lumberton to contribute to the establishment, preservation, and strengthening of small businesses, businesses owned by women, minorities and Section 3 businesses and individuals to encourage their participation in procurement activities. HACL encourages contractors to provide for the participation of small businesses, businesses owned by women, minorities, and Section 3 businesses and individuals through partnerships, joint ventures, subcontracts, or other contractual opportunities. If you are not a Section 3 business concern then a plan for involvement of these types of businesses is required. By submitting a bid, the Offeror certifies that all information provided in response to this IFB is true and accurate.Project Description: The project is a housing complex which consists of five (5) two story apartment buildings and a Community Center.
