This Agreement Will Include Statewide on-call Pedestrian and Bicycle Project Development Work to Include: Bicycle and Pedestrian Project Reviews to Ascertain Compliance With the Department's Complete Streets Policy and Bicycle and Pedestrian Guidelines, Project Scoping Assistance to Address Bike/ped Needs; Field Investigations to Evaluate Concerns or Potential Safe Access Problems for Bicycle and Pedestrian Travel, Planning Studies to Identify Solutions to Safe Bike/ped Access for Current and Future Needs. Carry Out Local and County Bicycle and Pedestrian Local Planning Assistance Studies That Identify Approaches to Improving Access and Safer Accommodation for Bicycles and Pedestrians. Perform Feasibility Studies to Explore Safe Crossings for Existing Bike/ped Networks Over State Highways. Assist in the Development and Implementation of Community Outreach Activities Including Facilitating Meetings With Public Officials and Community Leaders, Interest Groups and Organizations, and Other Stakeholders, as Needed. Prepare Outreach and Educational Materials, Including Guidebooks and Training Workshops to Empower the Public to Create Safer Walking and Bicycling Environments Throughout the State. Develop Innovative Approaches to Promote Fhwa Proven Safety Countermeasures to Reduce Bicycle and Pedestrian Serious Injuries and Fatalities Through Project Delivery. Carry Out Local and County Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning Studies and Develop Programmatic Solutions and/or Capital Improvements for Enhancing Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety in the Community in Fulfillment of the Plan.
