The City is soliciting proposals from qualified consultants or consultant teams to assess existing conditions and engage with City staff, Council, and the community to understand project goals and prepare a comprehensive feasibility study. The study must include at least three design alternatives with estimated construction costs, along with a comparison of alternatives using comprehensive and inclusive evaluation criteria. Evaluation criteria should be reviewed and finalized with City staff. The three alternatives should be weighed according to the criteria including, but not limited to, the number of parking stalls (maintained or removed), the number of existing trees (preserved or eliminated), pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicular circulation flows, enhanced wayfinding and access, integration of sustainable and green infrastructure, surface material quality, appeal, and sustainability, climate resiliency and sea-level rise considerations, aesthetics, and overall cost. In addition, the study should carefully consider all relevant existing plans and studies, as well as applicable regulations and ordinances, such as the City of Sausalito Ordinance 1128. There are currently approximately 1.2 acres of parking in Lot 1. The study should at the end present a prioritized list of recommendations supported by clear rationales and balanced considerations based on evaluation criteria and accompanied by clear visuals. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
